Wedding Wednesday

Oh hi, its me again… not only the worst blogger ever but also a liar… Cause I told you you’d get a post on Sunday and alas, I forgot. But here I am! For Wedding Wednesday!
I only have a few wedding updates to share since last we spoke. We’ve officially booked our rehearsal dinner venue – and I could NOT be more excited! It’s PERFECT. The University Center Club at Doak Campbell Stadium – the palace of the Florida State Seminoles! It will be garnet & gold themed of course and our photographer will be there as well so hopefully we’ll be able to sneak down onto the field for a couple of pictures that night. Kinda like this:

There she is in all her glory! Doak Campebell Stadium! (The Club is on the top floor)

Maybe we will do this? Minus the wedding dress that night of course

The actual room we will be in

Also, I emailed my photographer the other day and officially let her know that I changed my mind about bridal portraits. We had scheduled a Saturday in January (the same day as my trial run for my hair) to get dolled up like it’s the wedding day and take pictures. But I was having some anxiety about it. A) where would we do them? We don’t have a studio and I don’t want to get my dress dirty. B) What if I lose weight between that day and the wedding? I don’t want to have to get fitted all over again! So I cancelled and M.E. has promised that we will do a rock the dress shoot in the summer where we can get all the pictures we need if I feel unhappy with what we get on the wedding day. I mean, what if my bridal portraits looked like this?!

And one more update: WE HAVE BOOKED OUR HONEYMOON! On March 6 we will be leaving for ::drum roll please:: Paris & Rome for one week of newly wedded bliss! Eeeeeeek!!!! Please please, if you have any tips/recommendations send them my way!

OH and how could I forget – I mailed out our wedding invitations yesterday! I would love to share them with you because I spent a lot of time designing them but let me just tell you – they are unique and I love them.

PS. Have you seen this site? Horrendous!

PPS. Because its Wedding Wednesday don't forget that I'm linking up with Belle in Boots & Love Always, Nancy J so go check them out!

I just can't turn off my brain!

M.E. tells me all the time to just "Turn it off, turn off that brain." But I can't!! Maybe that's why I like lists so much, because they help me organize my thoughts and make me feel a little more productive... So Tuesdays will be my list days, I hope you're as excited as I am.

Five things I'll be doing over the next week:
One. Going to the Dollar Store to find things to craft with – its Fall ya’ll and I need to decorate the house/my office.
Two. Saturday’s FSU football game is on TV, which means air conditioning and a comfy couch. Don’t get me wrong, I will tailgate in all kinds of conditions, because I am a real fan. But a big screen tv and a bowl of chips and dips in your lap is pretty sweet.
Three. Getting our passport pictures taken! Or we will not be going on our honeymoon.
Four. I will be attending my first Barre class ever on Friday. This is what a barre class is. I’m very curious to see if I’ll be bad as I think I will.
Five. Making Enchilada Soup in the crockpot. Because its crockpot season!

Four things I can’t stop obsessing over:

Something pink for our Paint the Town Pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month! (October)

Three wedding updates:
1. Why are choosing a way to display table numbers so hard?
2. Why did I decide to put my poor fingers through the process of making a brooch bouquet?
3. Kegs or bottles?

Two things I am beyond pumped for:
Uno. Payday. This last paycheck has been streeeeetched to its limits what with the dentist and the car accident!
Dos. To get my hair did, maybe next week? Maybe darker? Maybe not? We will see!

One thing that's currently bothering me:
My sinuses. My poor poor sinuses. We have been getting awful weather for the past couple of days and its brought on my bi-annual sinus infection. Ugh!

Weekend Recap

Well that weekend went by too fast. I was feeling a little under the weather (as I do every year when the season starts to change) so nothing too crazy happened. Friday night we went up to Level8 to grab a couple of drinks and watch part of our wedding band play during happy hour. On the plane back home from New York (after he had just proposed) the first thing wedding that we discussed was definitely having a live band rather than a DJ. We chose the same band that played at his brother’s wedding last fall, Southern Satisfaction, and after hearing them again Friday night we got so so excited. So we pretty much stayed until they stopped playing. Here’s a little sneak peak:
When we got home that night, I decided it was time to make a birthday cake for my friend Meghann who’s birthday brunch was the next morning. It was delicious in spite of the fact that I was 7 Samuel Adams Oktoberfest deep. (To make my strawberry box cake taste homemade I substituted almond milk for water and melted butter for oil. Call me Paula Bean.)
Meghann just got a new puppy, Lily, and Sarah brought her new puppy, Hank. Bo was pretty angry at us when we got home that afternoon and would not stop sniffing me with this angry Bo-face.
Baby Lily getting cuddles from Aunt Lori & Hank Wiliams below with his favorite Aunt & Uncle
We were going to go to the FSU game that night but because I was feeling sick-y and it was pouring outside, we stayed in and ate chicken wangs and tried not to get angry at ESPN3 for not streaming the game perfectly. But duh, FSU won. (Oh, and Brady & the Bean (my team) won in Fantasy Football this week!)
Sunday was pancakes at the house, laundry and rewatching Hunger Games, and a couple of hours at the office before a trip to Publix and grilled cheese & soup for dinner. We suffered through an hour or so of the Emmy’s before I went to bed. And by go to bed I mean read my book until midnight when M.E. came in and told me I was going to be pissed in the morning that I had done that... But it just got good!! Anybody else read ‘The Historian’by Elizabeth Kostova?

Guess who's back, back again

Oh hiiii, yes I have a blog, no I don’t write in it every day week. Why? Sometimes I’m lazy, sometimes I just can’t think of anything to write about, I just write when the muses inspire me. So consider today a catch up day and be ready for some random ramblings.
Last night we stayed up late eating cookies & drinking Stella because it was draft night!! So excited for my blogger girl’s league! After the draft my new team name is Brady & the Bean – because I draft Brady, duh.

Draft day faces... how cute is Karoline??

We ordered a new rug from Ballard Desgins... its gonna be here on Thursday and I CAN’T WAIT. Next we need an end table, a new ceiling fan then hardwood floors.

I celebrated many things this past weekend, my Mother-in-law’s birthday, Halie’s Wedding Shower, and M.E.’s friend's 30th birthday bash. Here’s a picture dump:

We have almost officially decided on our Honeymoon destination! It will be official once we order our passports and order the tickets! Originally we were thinking Jamaica... now we’re thinking Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. The fact that we just like saying Punta Cana has a really big part in the decision.

Wedding Wednesday - Save the Dates!

Drumroll please....

Ta-da! Our Save the Dates!! Designed by yours truly and printed at a local shop here in town. I love them. (Because they are crappy iphone pics you can't see that our website is at the top in white: www.markandangie2014.com) I designed our invitations as well so they are similar, can't wait to show you!

Wedding Wednesday & 4th of July

Hi hi y’all! Guess what I got yesterday!!

Yup, that’s my dress! All hidden away at my parent’s house for another 7 months and 19 days! I keep thinking about it… it’s just so perfect!

In other wedding news… Originally we were planning to use a BBQ place here in town to cater dinner. BBQ is my favorite food (besides pizza) and this restaurant had great prices along including servers and formal serving dishes (so it wasn’t too tacky – not like BBQ on paper plates and tin bins). But then, M.E.’s boss offered us something amazing. He offered to cater our wedding at cost. Do you know how amazing that is?? We would save a heck of a lot of money but we will have everything the original restaurant had to offer and maybe more! Also, I like the idea of looking back at our wedding day and remembering that the food was made by someone that M.E. has worked/been friends with for a long time. We are so excited.

So I hope you all have a fantastic 4th of July! I’m pretty sure its going to rain my entire four day weekend… Which means no sun tan and no spray painting (more bathroom work).

And in honor of Independence Day I wore my new navy and white striped shirt.

Which apparently my coworkers thought I look like a referee…

So they made me a penalty flag.

Happy 4th of July!
