Whatchya watchin?

I'll tell you what! It's Fall, which means all my favorite Primetime TV shows are back! (No HBO shows... which makes me sad but if ALL of my shows were on there wouldn't be time to watch them all! And then I would never be able to go on social media sites because you all would ruin the show before I had time to watch it on Amazon Prime... because we don't have DVR...)
Anyway, here is a list of what M.E. and I watch when we're vegged out on the couch everynight - like when he's not studying or watching football or I'm not blogging/pinning/reading/wedding planning.

Monday

The Voice - this is usually a hit or miss... this season may be a miss because I just <3 much="" p="" so="" usher="">
How I Met Your Mother - I am loving the Mother!
Dancing with the Stars - I'll confess, I've never really committed to a whole season before... But I recognize so many of the contestants this year I'm hooked.
Sleepy Hollow - a new one, that M.E. likes more than me but its a good Halloween time show
Two Broke Girls - those girls crack me up
(Also, in case you didn't know, there is a Criminal Minds marathon every Monday & Tuesday night on Ion)
Tuesday
The Voice (again)
New Girl - Oh Jess....
(Also, Criminal Minds)
Wednesday
Revolution - We shall see if the second season is as good as the first!
American Horror Story - It hasn't started yet but I'm already terrified! This season is about witchcraft? Eek!
Duck Dynasty - I would have stopped watching this scripted show a long time ago if it weren't for Si, he cracks me up!
M.E.’s favorite, Modern Family
Thursday
The Big Bang Theory- I wish I were Katie Cuoco
Parenthood - Ya'll already know how I feel about this one...
Glee - The first episode is tonight - and its the BEATLES!
Elementary - Supposedly this season they are in England!

I should note that when there are no new episodes I've been catching up on Downton Abby and would like to start Breaking Bad so I can learn what all the fuss is about. So what are you watching this Fall? Anything you recommend? Anything I really shouldn't miss out on? Anything I should try to catch up on? Like I really have time...

Listing back into things

I know you're expecting me to start this post out by saying I'm baaaack! and going into about how busy I've been. But instead, I'm giving you some lists, enjoy and just be happy I'm back!

Five things I'll be doing over the next week:
Uno. Celebrating Meghann’s 26th birthday! My bestie since the 4th grade! We’re having a brunch at her lakehouse Saturday morning and I plan on making a fancy shmancy birthday cake.
Two. Picking out M.E.’s wedding tux! He promised we’d go on Friday, I can’t wait to see what he’ll be wearing the day I marry him!
Tres. Moooooore FSU football! Go Noles!
Four. “Stemming” vintage brooches for my brooch bouquet. Have to do it in sessions cause it hurts mah fingers.
Cinco. Getting a filling refilled because as of right now I have a huge hole in my tooth.

Four things I need to purchase:
1. Birthday cake ingredients.
2. Sperrys. I need some Sperrys! I need some Sperrys for Gamedays!
3. Our passports or we won’t be going very far for our honeymoon.
4. New leggings. I guess I thought I was being clever and put my old ones in a drawer somewhere for summer... and now I can’t seem to find them...
Oh Sperry Gods, these are the ones I need!

Three shows I can't wait to have back in my life:
Newsroom. Even though the season just ended. But the season finale of your favorite show is so heartbreaking!
American Horror Story. Its not Fall until that show is on to freak you out.
Parenthood. Because once a week I just need a good cry!

Two reasons I'm excited for Fall:
1. Skinny jeans/leggings & boots. & sweaters. & scarves.
2. ALL OF THE PUMPKIN SPICE THINGS! More specifically, lattes, beer, cookies/cakes/donuts/pies. Don’t roll your eyes, I love them.

One thing that's currently bothering me:
Well I got my car back yesterday! After driving the Challenger around for a week I was glad to have my baby back! But I have to bring her back in today because the right blinker isn’t working... Also, its really hard to save money for a wedding when your car & your tooth are falling apart!
Although my rental car was pretty fly...

MDW Recap

Happy TUESDAY bloggies! Yes, it feels so good to say Tuesday and not the M-word... That's why 3 day weekends are the best! I hope everyone had as fantabulous of a Memorial Day Weekend as we did! Ours was just perfect. Fun but not too crazy where we needed a vacation from our vacation.

Saturday we woke up early and head to the beach, Bo dog tagged along for a ride to the kennel.
Happy Bo dog
All smiles, excited to meet new puppy friends

First thing we did once we arrived to the beach out, beach gear & beers.

New beach pants from TJMaxx! (similar)
Perfection.

Then it was time for some dogs.
This was my favorite spot of the whole house.
I could eat this every day for the rest of my life. *not pictured, oreos & coorslight for dessert*

The boys went fishing and I took a nap by the pool before we headed back to the beach to explore the low tide.

It was beautiful!

Then it was back to the house for steaks, shot-gunning beer, boiled peanuts, and card games.

The next morning the boys were moving slow, so I went out to my favorite spot on the porch with a book and THE SOFTEST BLANKET EVER. I even took a picture of the tag so I can find one for myself.
Cloud blanket.

We got back to home Saturday night to nap, shower and head downtown for the free Thompson Square concert. We had such a good time!!

Yesterday was a lazy day with lots of 'Merican food (BBQ for lunch & burgers for dinner!) and a little laundry. We also got totally sucked into the tv show 'Falling Skies'... next weekend there is another marathon of Season 2, there goes my Saturday...

I feel good, and I knew that I would!

The Today Show – every morning! A little bit of news, a little bit of weather, a little bit of “what’s trending.”

Pizza – specifically: pepperoni with pineapple.

Getting things in the mail – presents for others, presents for myself. I will order things just because I know I’ll forget about it and be surprised when the mailman delivers.

Lists – they make me feel productive.

Shopping with my Ma – she’s my best good friend.

Watching shows with my sweetie – on the couch: The New Normal, American Horror Story, the Big Bang Theory, the Cosby Show, and even ESPN occasionally

Wine & cheese – cheap wine & fancy cheese.

A clean kitchen – nothing beats walking into the kitchen without a dirty dish/counter in sight. It truly makes me happy.

Boots.

Pinterest – which is like a never ending list with pictures.

Monograms – can’t have enough! Need monogrammed tanks for the summer!

Bo greetings – coming home to a massive beast leaping around and kissing the air just because he loves you.

What makes you feel good?

Dear Boss's Day (& Whoopie Pies & Mushroom Cheese Soup),

Before I get into last night’s kitchen adventure, I would like to say:

Happy Boss’s Day, ya’ll!!

It is indeed, National Boss Appreciation Day. So thank you boss(s), I appreciate you. I appreciate the honor of working for you, assisting you every day. Thank you for paying my bills. Thank you for making me laugh. Thank you for teaching me new things. And thank you for the yummy snacks in the break room this morning.

Which brings me to my next subject; I was going to make Pumpkin Spice Whoopie Pies last night. I mean I started the process, got them in the oven… Then almost burned the house down and realized I had used regular sugar instead of powdered. At that point I was so exhausted I said forget it… Maybe I’ll make it to Target again to get another box or maybe it just wasn’t meant to be!
Found this gem at Target
Of course I had to use my Halloween spatula! (70% off at Joann Fabrics yesterday!)

Before the whoopie pie debacle started though (while watching my new guilty pleasure Breaking Amish on TLC) I made the most BOMBDIGGITY soup of all time. I call it: Mushroom Cheese Soup. Please enjoy.

Mushroom Cheese Soup

Ingredients
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 carton of sliced mushrooms
1 carton of “trinity mix” (chopped onion, celery, green peppers)
2 tbs minced garlic
3 tbs butter
1 ½ cup of chicken broth
½ tub of crumbled gorgonzola cheese (not pictured but you know how you can buy it in the little tub from your local grocery store?)
Parsley, salt, and black pepper to taste
Shredded cheddar cheese optional

Directions
1.    Melt butter in a large skillet, dump mushrooms, trinity mix, and garlic into the skillet. Sauté over medium heat until yummy and caramelized.
2.    Pour 1 cup of chicken broth over veggies, let simmer for 10 min.
3.    In a medium saucepan over medium heat, mix ½ cup of broth, can of soup, and veggie/broth mixture. Mix in gorgonzola cheese, parsley, salt & pepper.
4.    Once the cheese seems melted, pour in bowl, top with shredded sharp cheddar, and enjoy with some yummy bread!

Very truly yours, A. Bean

Dear Friday,

It’s Friday Friday, who can concentrate on Friday? I have so many thoughts running around in my brain this afternoon. Nothing worth a whole blog post, but topics I would like feedback on (:

  • First of all, check out my polka dot fingernails! Red and pink!

  • Second, go Noles! We play Boston College tomorrow and I have faith in my team and Jimbo that we will play better than last week. Please boys, don’t let me down. I’m not sure I can handle another week with all the men in my life moping around.
  • Boyfriend said we could get our pumpkin this weekend. YES!
  • It’s also boyfriend’s 10th high school reunion this weekend. Go Maclay Marauders! Hey babe, what’s a Marauder? They didn’t teach us that in public school….
  • Does anyone besides my mother and I watch Parenthood on NBC? We love this show; these characters are real people to us. We care for them, we cry for them, we laugh with them, like real people. The acting is phenomenal. I very much recommend this show to everyone so that we can all talk about it together.

So everybody, have a spectacular weekend!

Very truly yours, A. Bean

Dear Fall TV,

You have taken over our lives!! But we love you so much. We have so many shows we can’t even watch them all! We have to decide what is ‘more’ important to watch based on what our cable company keeps ondemand. So every night we have a couple of sitcoms, maybe a drama or two, a singing competition… All while flipping over to either a football game or presidential debate. Its redik! Here are the shows we watch in our household (in no particular order because without boyfriend I would never know what time/channel anything is on)

Big Bang Theory
How I Met Your Mother
The New Normal
The New Girl
Ben & Kate
Raising Hope
Mike & Molly
Up All Night
Whitney (starts next week)
The Voice
The X Factor
Parenthood (this one’s mine)
Glee (mine too)
Once Upon A Time
Elementary (another good new one!)
Last Resort (a good new one!!)
Revolution (another good new one!)
An American Horror Story (hasn’t started yet but I am anxiously awaiting!)
Duck Dynasty (starts tonight I think!)
Nashville (pilot episode is tonight – gotta check it out!)

Good gracious that’s a lot of tv!

What are you watching this fall?

Very truly yours, A. Bean
