Bicycle built for 2

Y'all, Halie is married!!

The wedding was beautiful. The weather was beautiful, her dress was beautiful, the ceremony was beautiful. It was just perfect. Her wedding colors were teal & purple (so Halie!) with a bicycle theme. Here are couple of iphone pics I managed to snap from under the big oak tree where we stood:

Weekend Recap

Well that weekend went by too fast. I was feeling a little under the weather (as I do every year when the season starts to change) so nothing too crazy happened. Friday night we went up to Level8 to grab a couple of drinks and watch part of our wedding band play during happy hour. On the plane back home from New York (after he had just proposed) the first thing wedding that we discussed was definitely having a live band rather than a DJ. We chose the same band that played at his brother’s wedding last fall, Southern Satisfaction, and after hearing them again Friday night we got so so excited. So we pretty much stayed until they stopped playing. Here’s a little sneak peak:
When we got home that night, I decided it was time to make a birthday cake for my friend Meghann who’s birthday brunch was the next morning. It was delicious in spite of the fact that I was 7 Samuel Adams Oktoberfest deep. (To make my strawberry box cake taste homemade I substituted almond milk for water and melted butter for oil. Call me Paula Bean.)
Meghann just got a new puppy, Lily, and Sarah brought her new puppy, Hank. Bo was pretty angry at us when we got home that afternoon and would not stop sniffing me with this angry Bo-face.
Baby Lily getting cuddles from Aunt Lori & Hank Wiliams below with his favorite Aunt & Uncle
We were going to go to the FSU game that night but because I was feeling sick-y and it was pouring outside, we stayed in and ate chicken wangs and tried not to get angry at ESPN3 for not streaming the game perfectly. But duh, FSU won. (Oh, and Brady & the Bean (my team) won in Fantasy Football this week!)
Sunday was pancakes at the house, laundry and rewatching Hunger Games, and a couple of hours at the office before a trip to Publix and grilled cheese & soup for dinner. We suffered through an hour or so of the Emmy’s before I went to bed. And by go to bed I mean read my book until midnight when M.E. came in and told me I was going to be pissed in the morning that I had done that... But it just got good!! Anybody else read ‘The Historian’by Elizabeth Kostova?

Birthday Recap!

Mondays suck. Especially Mondays after the best weekend ever ever. I was such a spoiled girl this weekend that this Monday feels even worse than usual!

Friday
M.E. had made dinner reservations at The Front Porch where we had gouda & jalepinio hushpuppies and gouda grits. Oh we had fish and steak and green veggies too but they aren’t worth mentioning because the gouda grits and the gouda hushpuppies were the bomb.com. Meg & Alec met us at the bar after dinner for some sangria and then we wondered across the street for lemon drop shots at midnight for my birthday!

Saturday
We woke up and went to Donut Kingdom where I chowed on a birthday red velvet cake donut. NOM. Then my sweet sweet fiancĂ© helped me paint (by helped I mean he did most of the work) the bedroom in the townhouse we rent out. Then we went shopping. Hours & hours of shopping for the perfect tennis shoes! Since I’ve gotten serious about working out I decided I needed serious shoes and M.E. wanted to buy me some as a birthday gift. So I tried on every single pair. For lunch we stuffed our faces at Gordo’s, a local Cuban restaurant and then immediately needed naps before going over to my parents house for dinner with both sets of our parents. My dad made a delicious dinner and... he made 8 little wedding cakes! What?! Yes. Wedding cake tasting was my birthday cake and it was so much fun! Although I seriously thought I was going to pop afterwards.
I chose the blue ones!

Sunday
All of our friends met us for brunch Sunday morning at PrimeTime. They had unlimited mimosa and a build your own mimosa bar and ginormous breakfast burritos served with a donut on top. It was unreal. Needless to say that afternoon we did nothing but lay around and nap.

So today has been rough because A. I am dreading crossfit tonight (after not working out for a week) and B. I’m back to my diet which is rough after eating like a piggy all last week! Send me motivation!

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday loverlies! I hope you had a fantasic weekend!

Ours wasn't too eventful. Friday night M.E. took me on a date to Harry's, our favorite. Where I ate like a pig and tried their new sweet corn grits - amazing. Oh and I got their chocolate bread pudding - to die for.

Saturday I woke up and went to the gym, who am I?? Then I ran over to the townhouse to meet the new renter and get the lease signed. Then, let me just tell you this story real quick...

Baby brother Nick call up Daddy on Friday saying the truck was acting up, by the time Daddy got to the gas station there was this shirtless fellow offering to fix it for $100. So naturally they hand him the keys and exchange phone numbers. Well, they don't hear from him and don't hear from him... So Daddy calls on Saturday and the guy says its almost ready (by this point my brothers & Ma are gone and on a cruise) so I drive over to give Daddy a lift to the middle of NOWHERE to this trailer off of a dirt road to where this shirtless nipple-pierced young man and his similarly garbed friends are fixing the truck. Welp, they had fixed it all right and I hightailed it out of there - oogy!

But wait before that adventure, I stopped by Bestie Sarah's house to meet my new little nephew. I present to you: Hank Williams Dean

Isn't he precious?!
Saturday night, M.E. and I ran some errands around town. You know how you really love somebody? You enjoy going on errands with each other. We went to this new pizza place in town for dinner, Maddio's. I have a feeling we'll be back there pretty soon... It's kind of a subway style pizza place, you pick your own toppings as you walk down the line for you individual size pizza.

Yesterday my other Daddy came to town and the three of us went to Up in Smoke for some amazing BBQ sandwiches and to the movies to see Wolverine (it was ok... kinda almost fell asleep). Then I took a nap, grocery shopped, M.E. made us tacos and we watched our Sunday night shows - Falling Skies is gettin' real!

This morning I made my favorite ViSalus shake so far, I call it:

Berry Cheesecake

1/2 Almond Breeze - Unsweetend Vanilla
1/4 cup frozen strawberres/blueberries mix
1 teaspoon instant jello fat free cheesecake flavor
2 scoops of ViSalus shakes
4 ice cubes

Only 141 calories!

Bathroom: Bam!

Hey y'all! I have nothing too exciting to share about my weekend, it was pretty low key and relaxing...
Friday night we were both craving steak and went to Logan's, them steaks were amazing. Saturday I met my Ma and my brother AJ at the bridal shop and tried on MY dress! Its officially mine mine mine! So exciting and surreal and really hard not to share every little detail about it... Saturday evening M.E. and I went to Red Elephant and drank lots of wine at the house while watching old reruns of Dawson's Creek - the wine made us do it. Sunday we sat around, grocery shopped, did some laundry and sat around some more. Oh and made some amazing chicken Caesar sandwiches. I would share the recipe but I forgot to take a picture so maybe next time. *bad blogger*

Speaking of pictures, I didn't work on the bathroom at all this weekend but here is a sneak peak, before and after shot!

Bam! Now all I need to do is clean and find a new place for the toilet paper which hasn't seemed to move...post signature

MDW Recap

Happy TUESDAY bloggies! Yes, it feels so good to say Tuesday and not the M-word... That's why 3 day weekends are the best! I hope everyone had as fantabulous of a Memorial Day Weekend as we did! Ours was just perfect. Fun but not too crazy where we needed a vacation from our vacation.

Saturday we woke up early and head to the beach, Bo dog tagged along for a ride to the kennel.
Happy Bo dog
All smiles, excited to meet new puppy friends

First thing we did once we arrived to the beach out, beach gear & beers.

New beach pants from TJMaxx! (similar)
Perfection.

Then it was time for some dogs.
This was my favorite spot of the whole house.
I could eat this every day for the rest of my life. *not pictured, oreos & coorslight for dessert*

The boys went fishing and I took a nap by the pool before we headed back to the beach to explore the low tide.

It was beautiful!

Then it was back to the house for steaks, shot-gunning beer, boiled peanuts, and card games.

The next morning the boys were moving slow, so I went out to my favorite spot on the porch with a book and THE SOFTEST BLANKET EVER. I even took a picture of the tag so I can find one for myself.
Cloud blanket.

We got back to home Saturday night to nap, shower and head downtown for the free Thompson Square concert. We had such a good time!!

Yesterday was a lazy day with lots of 'Merican food (BBQ for lunch & burgers for dinner!) and a little laundry. We also got totally sucked into the tv show 'Falling Skies'... next weekend there is another marathon of Season 2, there goes my Saturday...

Weekend Recap: Living Room Reveal!

Happy Monday bloggies! I hope everyone had a fantabulous weekend!

With M.E. out of town, Bo and I spent most of the weekend in bed or painting... Friday night I had a little too much fun celebrating Lori's birthday out on the town and paid for it on Saturday...
Photographic evidence of too much fun!

Once I finally got over my headache, I got my butt to Lowes so I could finish my projects before M.E. came home! I actually don't have any pictures of what I painted though, womp womp, bad blogger. Last weekend I painted the living room area from tan to gray, this weekend I painted the dining room area from tan to gray. So the pictures below should give you kind of an idea of the transformation.

Before
After!
Obsessed with my C. Wonder candle & Columbia sangria pitcher!

My terrarium is just so cool.

New shelf! Can never have too many shelves...

And a new coffee table tray for the remotes and my new Volcano candle!

There are a couple more things I'd like to change in here: like a new fan, new rugs, new side table & someday wood flooring... But I think its coming along pretty nicely!

I hope everyone spoiled their mommies yesterday and had as much fun as I did with my new Mother-in-law and my Mother!
