Emails to my Bestie

Every day I when I sit down at my computer and double click on Safari to open Blogger I think, “Nah, I have nothing to write about today. No blog post for me...” As I am simultaneously writing novel emails to by bffle Sarah Dean. What the heck? Maybe it’s because I know Dean will respond and not judge and read what I have to say even if I don’t send her corresponding pictures. Or maybe she doesn’t really read my emails at all... But why do I let her in on all my juicy random thoughts and not you, internet?

Subject: GRUNGY?
Yesterday (as in Sunday) night M.E. and I went to my parent’s house for dinner to visit with my Aunt & Uncle, and really to officially ask my Uncle to be our officiant for the wedding ceremony. There was lots of wedding talk and Ma had set the table with wedding décor so we could show off what we had been working on/planning. Well today (as in Monday) we all received my Uncle’s weekly email he sends to all family members & friends – a weekly newsletter basically. In it he describes the wedding décor... as GRUNGY CHIC. Yes, yes, GRUNGY not shabby, not vintage, not eclectic. GRUNGY. Ha! Men.

Subject: Diet
So M.E. and I decide (again) to officially get on this diet thing. Or as M.E. put it, a “cleanse”. Well I ain’t making no green smoothies for dinner every night but I did make a mean turkey burger with tzatziki sauce and pita bread for dinner. AND I made “sassy water” (lemons, cucumbers, and mint leaves). Do you know I’ve never sliced a cucumber before that? Also, I should really go back to the gym...

Subject: Blow Dry
I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE NEW BLOW DRY BAR TO OPEN! I hope it lives up to all of my dreams and expectations. The official opening is this weekend BUT because I have amazing model like hair I used to work with the owners, I get to go in today for a sneak peek of the place and be a practice head. My first blow out fo free. Its really cool because this will be the first Cherry Blow Dry Bar opening in the States. In Tallahassee of all places!

Subject: Teeth
My teeth hurt. I’ve been whitening my teeth and now they hurt. But they look good.

Oh also we send each other at least 5 Buzzfeed links a day.

Wedding Wednesday

So it’s been awhile since I last did a Wedding Wednesday! It’s tricky because I want to share EVERYTHING with you but at the same time some things I would like to be a surprise and some things I’m sure you don’t want to hear me complain about. I will tell you think though, I have officially hit this stage of the wedding planning.
When we first got engaged I was like this.
Now I’m like this- beyond stressed.
And I’m just so ready to be like this.
I'mready to be married to M.E.. And then go on our honeymoon. Which may be changing btw - the destination MAY no longer be in the Caribbean... it MAY be Europe. And I want to cry just thinking about how amazingly spectacular it would be to be in Europe with my new husband. Here’s a little update on the actual planning:

Centerpieces: We have arranged 10 of 18 and taken pictures of how they will be set up.

Plates: We need more plates. Anyone have any extra china sets they’d like to ship to me? Or can anyone recommend a website that sells plates in bulk?

Bridesmaids: Their dresses came in and they look GORGEOUS. I promised I didn’t choose my bridesmaids on their stellar good looks, it just worked out that way.

Bouquet: Y’all. I did a brooch bouquet. It was a LOT of work but it’s perfect! I wish I could show you but it’s another surprise!

Rehearsal dinner: My soon-to-be mother-in-law is amazing and has really taken over with helping with this! The dinner itself is going to be about 50 people and she is so wonderful helping us arrange everything!

I am just so excited for all of the wedding related events coming up – and they’ll be here SO soon! Thanksgiving, Christmas, M.E.’s 30th birthday, NYE, Couples Shower, Wedding Shower, Bridal Portraits, Bachleorette Party, Lingerie Shower, Bridal Luncheon, Rehearsal Dinner, WEDDING, HONEYMOON! Eeek!

ONLY 3 MONTHS AND 30 DAYS!

Tiger for Dinner

This weekend was fairly uneventful except for Saturday night when our SEMINOLES KICKED TIGER BUTT!

M.E. was lucky enough to go to the game (and tailgate for 10 hours). He was exhausted when he got home last night but he had a great time! They got to rush the field after we dominated!

Can you spot him? He's not looking the right way...
Here is a shout out to my three favorite players from the game:

J-boo! Don’t call him Famous Jameis, he doesn’t like it. He likes J-boo because that was the nickname his Mama gave him. Jameis, you are so freakin adorable but I’m afraid you may need glasses because you seemed to have a hard time seeing on the field Saturday night. Also, thank you for being The Best.

Kenny Shaw. Kenny, you play like a beast but when we saw you in real life you looked like a hipster. And I think it’s funny you wear skinny jeans.

Nick O’Leary. Nick, you look like a ginormous snuggly leprechaun and you ran like the wind this weekend. And I don’t care that you have a famous grandpa because you are a obvi a better football player than golfer.

Did y'all watch any football this weekend? This was the ONLY game I watched but I watched it twice! Go Noles!

8 Things Every Happy Woman Should Have

Oh hi, it’s me. I haven’t blogged in a week. It’s been crazy at work and at home and well, blog, you were put on the back burner. But I’m back and I’m here to talk about this article (that Erin also wrote about). 8 things every happy woman should have, cause it’s the simple things really. Yeah yeah big picture is most important but as women we like details details!

1. A go-to drink… Depends on the time of day! Morning, a Caramel Macchiato; Lunch, a diet coke; Evening, Pinot Nior or Chardonnay... although I read an article the other day how you shouldn’t buy Pinot Nior that is under $15... soooo... my newest go-to red (as of last night) are Red Blends

2. A go-to Karaoke song.  Well I can’t remember the last time I Karaoke’d... I’m thinking for my bachelorette party we will most likely find a Karaoke bar and I will most likely drag my bridesmaids on stage with me to sing La La by Ashley Simpson.

3. A uniform.  These day’s I’m all about the tank top with a cardigan... and waiting for the skinny jeans and boots weather. In the summer I’m all about flowy dresses... but not too flowy... I can’t stand being Marilyn Monroe’d with the slightest breeze.

4. A hair stylist they love.  I love my hair (yeah I’m pretty proud of it) but I hate getting it done. I hate sitting in that chair wasting hours of my life, not to mention all of the $$! But I’ve found one lady recently (through Groupon believe it or not) and she’s been decent. I’m just not a hair-did, nails-did type of girl! Although I may become one once this Blow Dry Bar down the street opens....

5. An exercise routine.  HA! Does garage sale-ing count? You know, wake up at the crack of dawn to walk around the neighborhood?

6. A hobby.  Right now I will say wedding planning... a yearlong hobby... even if its not always a hobby I enjoy (stressful much?!) But what I really look forward to is going home after work, getting kisses from M.E. and Bo dog, making dinner and watching our shows on the couch.

7. A best friend.  M.E. is my best friend. I’m so cliché. And my three bridesmaids are my best friends too, Sarah, Meghann & Lori. And my mama.

8. A healthy sense of self.  This one is hard... Some days I feel confident in who I am and some days I just don’t like me. That’s the curse of being a woman though, I guess. I wish I had more money, I wish I were skinnier, I wish I were less sensitive, I wish I were more organized, I wish I were more patient. Although I really do enjoy spending time by myself. I like just meandering around the mall by myself or sitting at home and painting my toes. I know I must being doing something right because I have a wonderful man that wants to marry me and a family and friends that support & love me.
